What Is NIFT Exam?
It is an entrance exam is conducted by the National Institute of Fashion Technology, it consists of:

  • The GAT (General Aptitude Test)
  • The CAT ( Creative Aptitude Test )
  • The Situation test
NOTE:-As for Bachelors in fashion technology the candidate is expected to only write the GAT
What is NIFT exam pattern?
There is the GAT (General Aptitude Test) it’s an objective type test and asks questions in the following quantitative ability, communicative ability, English, analytical ability, general knowledge and current affairs.

The CAT is the Creative Aptitude Test; it’s very subjective and puts the candidate’s artistic abilities to the test.

The situation test happens after the GAT and CAT; in this the candidate is asked to make a three dimensional model with the materials they provide.
What is the difference between NIFT and NID?
Nift focuses on mainly on apparel and offers courses like fashion design, leather design and accessory design and fashion communication. Giving importance to the fabrics, garment, structure and styling whereas NID focuses animation design, graphic design product design and exhibition design.
